Terms of Service

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Klerifai, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Klerifai.

If you use Klerifai on behalf of a company, agency or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Klerifai account. We check your date of birth at sign-up and refuse accounts that do not meet the minimum age.

Klerifai is never available to anyone under 13. If we open accounts to people aged 13 to 17, those accounts will require a parent or guardian's approval before they become active, will remain under that guardian's oversight, and will carry additional restrictions — including no paid plans, no agency representation, no appearance in search, and messaging limited to guardian-approved contacts. We will update these Terms before that happens.

You may not use Klerifai if we have previously suspended or banned you, or if you are barred from receiving services under the laws that apply to you.

• Give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. Your name, date of birth and credentials must be your own.
• One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
• Keep your sign-in details and one-time codes private. We will never ask you for a code. Klerifai keeps one active session per account, so signing in on a new device ends the session on the old one.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at support@klerifai.com if you believe someone else has accessed it.

Klerifai is a professional network for the entertainment industry. Members can build a profile and portfolio, post and apply to castings, host and attend events, offer paid consultations and membership circles, message one another, leave reviews and manage representation.

Klerifai is a platform, not a party to the arrangements members make with each other. We are not an employer, talent agency or casting director, we do not guarantee that a casting, booking, event or consultation will happen or turn out as described, and we do not guarantee any income or work.

You are responsible for your own decisions and dealings with other members, including meeting in person. Use your judgement, keep communication and payments on Klerifai where the platform supports them, and report anything that concerns you.

Some features are offered in stages and may be added, changed or withdrawn. We will tell you before removing a paid feature you are currently paying for.

A verification badge means the checks described on our Trust & verification page were actually carried out. Paying for a plan or a fee gives you access to verification; it never buys the badge.

• Identity checks are performed by our verification provider, who returns an outcome and a reference to us. Any biometric check is optional and requires your separate consent.
• The verification fee (currently $49) pays for the review itself and is not refunded if the application is rejected.
• We may remove a badge if the information behind it turns out to be false or out of date. Submitting false or borrowed credentials is grounds for permanent removal.
• A badge confirms what was checked. It is not an endorsement of a member's work, character or conduct.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Prices are in US dollars unless shown otherwise, and the price displayed at checkout is the one that applies. Taxes may be added where required.

Subscriptions

• Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time in Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you can undo the cancellation until then.
• Upgrades and downgrades are prorated for the rest of the current period.
• Except where these Terms or the law say otherwise, payments for a period already started are not refunded.
• Downgrading does not remove a verification badge you earned — the check still happened.

One-off fees

• Casting posts: a standard listing (currently $49) or a featured listing shown in the promoted strip for 7 days (currently $149). A live standard casting can be upgraded to featured for the difference. Company plans include a monthly allowance of castings; unused allowance does not roll over. If a casting is rejected at screening, its posting fee is refunded.
• Paid message requests: to message someone who does not otherwise accept your messages, you may pay the price they set (between $1 and $500). They receive 75% if they reply. You are refunded in full, automatically, if they decline, block you, or do not reply within 72 hours.
• Events, circles and consultations are priced by the member offering them. Event refunds follow the host's stated policy. Consultations follow the cancellation policy the professional selects (24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days or none); if the professional cancels, or misses a written-answer deadline, you are refunded in full. If a circle closes or removes you, that month is refunded.

Getting paid

• Members who earn on Klerifai are paid through Stripe Connect and must complete Stripe's onboarding. Stripe's own terms apply to that account.
• Klerifai deducts a marketplace fee from earnings (currently 6% plus $0.99 per unit sold). Funds are held for a short period (currently 7 days, reduced to 2 days after 10 completed transactions without issue) and then paid out weekly.
• If a buyer disputes a charge with their bank, the related earnings may be held or reversed while the dispute is resolved.

We may change prices or fees. Changes do not affect a period or purchase you have already paid for, and we will give you notice before a subscription renews at a new price.

Klerifai sends text messages under the program name "Klerifai account notifications". These terms apply when you give us a mobile number.

• What we send: one-time sign-in and verification codes, security alerts about your account, and — only if you turn on text notifications in Settings → Notifications — account notifications such as a welcome message. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
• How you opt in: by entering your mobile number in Klerifai and requesting a code, or by turning on text notifications. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
• Frequency: varies with your activity — typically one message each time you request a code, plus any notifications you have turned on.
• Cost: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
• Opting out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages. You can also turn off text notifications in Settings, or remove your number from your account. If you opt out, sign in with your email address instead.
• Help: reply HELP to any message, or contact support@klerifai.com.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-messaging consent with anyone for their marketing. See Text messages in our Privacy Policy.

You own the photos, videos, text and other content you post on Klerifai ("your content"). You keep all of your rights in it.

So that we can run the service, you give Klerifai a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and distribute your content on Klerifai, to the audience your visibility settings allow, and to promote your public profile within Klerifai. This licence ends when your content is removed, except for copies kept as described in our Privacy Policy, and for content you shared with other members that they still hold (such as messages).

You confirm that you have the rights needed to post your content — including the permission of anyone identifiable in it — and that it does not break the law or these Terms. We remove photo metadata (such as location) from images you upload.

When using Klerifai, you must not:

• harass, threaten, bully, stalk or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful content;
• post or request sexual content involving anyone under 18, or anything that sexualises or endangers a minor — this results in immediate removal and a report to the relevant authorities;
• impersonate anyone, misrepresent your identity, credits, agency or representation, or use fake or borrowed credentials;
• run scams, request payment for auditions, or steer members to pay or communicate off Klerifai to avoid its protections or fees;
• post content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
• write, buy, sell or trade reviews, or review yourself;
• send spam or unsolicited bulk messages;
• scrape, harvest or bulk-download data, or access Klerifai by automated means without our written permission;
• probe, disrupt or interfere with Klerifai's security or systems, or upload malicious code; or
• help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.

Reviews should be honest and based on a real experience. Reviews backed by a verified interaction on Klerifai are marked as verified; other reviews are labelled unverified and are limited in number and frequency.

To protect against abuse, some reviews are held before publication — for example, reviews from newly created accounts or reciprocal reviews written shortly after each other. We may ask an author to revise a review that breaks these Terms, and we may remove it. Earlier versions of a review are kept on record.

You can report a profile, message, review or listing, and block anyone. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, hold payouts, or suspend or permanently ban an account that breaks these Terms or puts others at risk. Where the law or someone's safety requires it, we may act without notice and share information with the authorities.

Messages may be automatically screened for scams and attempts to move conversations off Klerifai. Flagged content may be reviewed by our moderators.

If we suspend or ban your account and you believe we got it wrong, write to appeals@klerifai.com and tell us why.

Parts of Klerifai are provided by other companies — for example Stripe for payments and payouts, our identity-verification provider, and our video provider for virtual events and consultations. Their terms may also apply when you use those features. Sign-in with Google, Apple or Facebook is governed by your agreement with that provider.

A virtual event or consultation is only recorded when everyone taking part has agreed. Do not record any session yourself without the consent of everyone in it.

The Klerifai name, logo, software and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use them, except to use the service as intended.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

You can close your account at any time in Settings. Your profile is removed from Klerifai straight away. To reopen it, contact support. To have your personal data deleted, see "Your rights" in our Privacy Policy.

Closing your account does not cancel amounts already owed, refunds or payouts in progress, or open disputes, and it does not remove the record of interactions and reviews other members rely on, which is kept in anonymised form.

We may suspend or close your account as described above. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue — including payments owed, your content licence for retained copies, disclaimers, limits of liability and disputes — survive after your account ends.

Klerifai is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Klerifai will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information members provide — including profiles, castings and reviews — is accurate.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Klerifai will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, earnings, opportunities or data, arising from your use of Klerifai or your dealings with other members.

Our total liability for any claim relating to Klerifai is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

You agree to cover Klerifai against claims, losses and reasonable costs brought by third parties that arise from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your dealings with other members — except to the extent they are caused by us.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Before bringing a claim, please contact us at support@klerifai.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either of us may bring proceedings in [Courts with jurisdiction], and both of us consent to that jurisdiction. If you live in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts, you keep that right.

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Klerifai after that, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can close your account.
